“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined” – Henry David Thoreau

Class of 2017, we have finally done it!

graduation

Whether you are graduating from middle school, junior high, high school, college, graduate school, or know someone who is graduating this spring, be proud of your accomplishments and the accomplishments of all your love ones! I graduated this past weekend from Iowa State University with distinction with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology and Public Health and a minor in Psychology. I cannot believe that I am now a college graduate and that my time at Iowa State has come to an end..The last four years has been nothing short of amazing from tailgating, to camping out for basketball games, to  joining a sorority and meeting my best friends, working as a research assistant, to receiving the absolute best education possible. My plans after graduation is to pursue my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Until then, I am excited to be able to share my knowledge of health and wellness in the community and to all of our patients at Iowa Family Chiropractic.

Everyone always asks me how I stay so healthy and on top of things while going to school full-time, working part-time, along with being a teaching assistant, a research assistant, being an active member of my sorority, and still finding time to give back to the community. My answer is easy. Chiropractic care! Even the busiest person can find time for chiropractic care. Even the sickest person could benefit from chiropractic care. Even the most stressed out person could benefit from chiropractic care. Why? Because chiropractic care strengthens your immune system, regulates stress hormones, and helps support the respiratory system. The benefits of chiropractic care are endless, but it is important to remember what keeps us all healthy and strong.

At the Iowa State class of 2017 ceremony this past weekend, a very powerful speaker, Dennis Muilenburg, CEO of the Bowing Company, reflected on his time at ISU and post graduation. Dennis worked hard, made connections, was kind, humble, and most importantly stayed true to his morals. Muilenburg had many great things to say, but one thing he said that stuck with me was, “Think and dream big then think and dream bigger”. With the constant changes that are to come in the near future for us graduates whether that means moving out of your dorm room, moving into a dorm room, or moving to a totally new city or state, make sure and keep one thing in your life constant- chiropractic adjustments! Happy graduation to all of us! I wish you all the best in all you set out to do, I know it will be nothing short of amazing.
