Most of the time the answer is yes – for your hair appointment, oil change, dentist – but why should you KEEP your chiropractic appointment?
What runs your immune system?
The answer is your central nerve system – your brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
In fact, your nerve system is in direct contact with your immune system every second of every day of your life to monitor and regulate its activity. Which means your immune system will only work as well as your nerve system works.
So, if your spinal alignment is off (from having subluxations) and your nerve system is only working at 70% efficiency, your immune system will only work at 70% efficiency.
If we can make the immune system work better, at 90% or 100%, your body will be able to better attack whatever is invading it and heal faster.
“But I don’t want to get you guys sick!”
Thank you! We love you too. But we aren’t worried about getting sick (we all get adjusted weekly in this office). So don’t worry about bringing your germs into our office, but make sure you stay home from other activities when your body is worn down and needs some time to restore.
The idea behind staying home from work or school isn’t necessarily just to avoid infecting other people, but to allow your body to rest and heal. Think about it this way: if you have 100% energy and work takes 50%, you have 50% left over for normal function. But if you now only have 70% energy and work takes 50%, you are going to take longer to recover from your illness because your body doesn’t have the means to do so. If you stay home and rest, you now have that 50% to put toward healing.
If you know someone who is sick all the time, or seems to catch everything that is going around, send them to the chiropractor. You just might save their life — or at least improve the quality of their life!
We understand that with a cold or flu you sometimes don’t feel like getting up and getting out, but as soon as you can get in here for your adjustment.
Give your immune system a boost to help kick those germs out of there.
